![]() ![]() ![]() Everywhere was very shabby and there was piped music - pop or rock - during every day and live music every evening except Sunday. 242 - was an odd shape with a sort of dog-leg in it which was not very wide and meant that you couldn't watch the TV easily from the bed, and there was barely room to position the two armchairs next to each other in order to do so. In the event, the room - which did have a sea view admittedly - was so poky that we had barely enough space to pass each other at the bottom of the bed. It was not cheap to start with and we paid a not insignificant addition to have a sea view room. This hotel is, apparently, the oldest in Bournemouth, dating back to the early days of Queen Victoria's reign and seemed to be living on its past glories alone. Bournemouth is great and I would recommend for families but the Royal Bath Hotel is not fit for purpose. The staff do their best to keep the peace but I am sure they have a torrid time at work as almost every couple we saw checking out had complaints. One of the bed's leg was broken on arrival but to be fair was fixed when asked. It was a dribble and the mixer was so old it did not work either giving boiling hot water or a small dribble of cold. Not a lot of money but for £502 I would expect at least a free swim. Also the swimming pool is chargeable at £5 per person for 24 hours. They charge £25 to park the car for 24 hours when you can go 100 meters to Berry Court and pay £5 for same. They give you 2 x 20 minute wifi access in 24 hours, next to useless and hope you will pay for more. Brittania hotel Group are making a fortune here as they haven't spent 1 penny updating the hotel in many years. ![]() We booked quite late and of course Bournemouth is extremely busy so the price was acceptable, however the accommodation simply wasn't. We paid £502 for 2 nights at the Royal Bath hotel. ![]()
